Lunch at Delheim



Firmly a tradition, we went for lunch on our first full day in the Cape at Delheim's Garden Restaurant.




Three of us had Cape Malay chicken curry which was better than last year, the sauce was thicker and contained vegetables.

Krisie pursued rarer meats with Ostrich Bobotie, but why wasn't her wine glass refilled with the lovely


It was good to be recognised by Tasting Room manager August Pepe who poured us tastes of their new Tempranillo. It was fresh an fruity but not as intense as Spanish, which I guess is the result of young vines. 

And everyone had Delheim's Pinotage Ice-Cream.

In the evening Dan made Spaghetti Bolognaise while we had an aperitif of Steenberg's sparkling Sauvignon Blanc. With the spag bol we had garlic bread and the smooth supple


a blend of Pinotage, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz.
