To Anglesey Abbey National Trust property with Jacqui and Alberto. It was heaving, and our planned lunch there was changed because the queue to the self service counter stretched out of the restaurant. But we found an excellent nearby pub with a very accommodating landlord and Alberto and I shared a decent bottle of Malbec.
The house was scheduled to be closed during February but it was closed when we went, as were many of the walks. Yet a full entry charge was levied.
It was dry, but bitterly cold and though there were swathes of snowdrops in the distance there was no way to get close to them. There was a short walk through a wood marked as a Snowdrop Path but there were few.
We were taken with a grove of white barked trees, that are cleaned and polished to look their best.
