GOM and Carpenters Arms' Homemade Pie
To Harpenden and the Carpenters Arms for another evening with the Grumpy Old Men U3A Group.
From left; Andy, Gwyn, Peter N, Peter M, Mike, Gerry M, Martin, Mark, Ron, Gerry W. |
The Carpenters Arms is rightly popular with the GOM for its home made pies, just like mum used to make, with short-crust pastry and a packed filling. Beautiful crispy chips too.
On our menu tonight is Chicken and Mushroom or Minced Beef and Onion Pie with Chips and vegetables, followed by Pear and Almond Tart with Icecream or Custard.
One couldn't eat all their chips. |
